Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Say Local Studio collects when you visit this site or get in touch, and what I do with it.

Who I am

Say Local Studio specializes in Swedish copywriting, localization and brand communication. I am responsible for the personal data described here, and you can reach me at hello@saylocal.co.

What I collect and why

• When you get in touch. If you email me, I receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to write. I use it to reply and to talk about a possible project.
• When we work together. I keep what is needed to deliver and invoice the work, such as contact details, project files and invoices.
• When you visit the site. The site runs on Squarespace, which collects basic technical and usage data such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you view. It keeps the site secure and gives me aggregated visitor statistics. Some of this uses cookies; see the Cookie Notice. The fonts on the site are loaded from Google Fonts, so your IP address is also sent to Google when a page loads.

I do not sell personal data or use it for automated decision-making.

Legal basis for processing

I process personal data to answer your enquiries and carry out projects you have asked for, to meet bookkeeping obligations, and to keep the site secure. The legal bases are performance of a contract, legal obligation (bookkeeping), my legitimate interest in running and securing the site, and your consent for analytics cookies.

Who I share it with

Only the services needed to run the site and the studio: Squarespace for hosting and analytics, and my email service for messages sent to hello@saylocal.co. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the safeguards they offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted after 12 months. Project records are kept for the length of the project and three years after. Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@saylocal.co. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
